I had planned on making an update on Earl’s progress last night, but yesterday was such a long day that I passed out before I could.
But now I realize it’s because the universe had a bigger and better announcement coming our way.

EARL IS COMING HOME TOMORROW!!!

Per the doctors and the physical therapists, he has ALREADY reached the markers that make them comfortable enough to say that he no longer needs to be in hospital care in order to continue his progression.  And y’all?  He really has.  You should hear the difference in his speech pattern from last week till today.  It’s NIGHT and DAY difference.   It’s still not 100% Earl pre-powers but it’s getting there so quickly.  His spirits are up and have been kept up by regularly reading your messages, texts, prayer passages, and notes of good will (I share them ALL with him), so I’ve been getting to see him flash that smile that I live for.

The toughest parts remain the managing of the Alien Limb Syndrome and the fact that the brain injury has impacted his data / analytics side. For those who don’t know, Earl is a Mathmagician. He has his Bachelor’s Degree in that (and History). It was one of the big reasons I fell in love with him.  His mind is so quick and intricate with numbers.  It was something I was never able to do and it fascinated me about him.  To watch him struggle with the exercises that have him adding up coins or telling time on an analog clock is hard… but he’s fighting a bigger battle reforming the connections in his brain that were lost with the stroke injury.  And he’s determined to get it right.

I’m super excited to have him back in our domicile starting tomorrow and continuing his progress (and of course, keeping you all updated)!  We’ll let you know when he’s ready for some visitors at home as soon as we’re able.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out, lent a helping hand, given generously from your hearts and kept us all in your prayers.  WE truly feel it all. It has been the wave of support that has helped us to tread this situation like champions.  THANK YOU.  I’m personally forever indebted.

More to come!
